Menopause is more than just a transition; it's a new chapter in a woman's life that comes with its own set of challenges and changes. Frequently Asked Questions

Menopause marks the end of menstrual cycles and is diagnosed after a woman has gone 12 months without a menstrual period (and lab markers can confirm the diagnosis). Evaluation can also involve assessing symptoms like hot flashes and hormonal testing.

Menopause unfolds in three stages: perimenopause (leading up to menopause with diminishing progesterone and estrogen production), menopause (marked by the end of menstrual periods), and post-menopause (the years following menopause).

Common symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, emotional changes, insomnia, and changes in sexual desire among others. Some symptoms are temporary, while others will be ongoing.

The program begins with a 60-minute initial visit with a Naturopathic Doctor, followed by blood tests, a lab review follow-up, a brief check-in call, and subsequent follow-up lab tests and reviews to monitor and adjust your treatment plan.

Treatment options vary from natural methods like dietary adjustments and herbal supplements to hormonal therapies like bio-identical estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone replacement. These are available in a variety of forms, including compounded creams, oral capsules, patches, and pellets.

The process of menopause can last anywhere from 2 to 10 years, with the severity and duration of symptoms varying from person to person. Some health changes will continue beyond this menopausal time period.

At Spark Health, we provide a holistic approach to menopause management, encompassing a thorough understanding of what to expect from hormonal changes, personalized treatment plans that extend beyond just hormonal symptoms, and continuous prevention and health optimization through your unique and empowered life.
